The Fox & Hounds Inn is
Grade II Listed, built circa 1400 and situated in the heart of 'Herriot
Country'. The pub is one of the oldest dwelling places in the area and was a
rest house for monks from the nearby monastery at Jerveaulx Abbey.
It also has its own ecclesiastical ghost. There is a raised beer
garden at the rear, a restaurant with an inglenook fireplace, and a rare
'beehive' oven. |
